Lead gets absorbed by the plant leaves from the environment (air,water and soil), particularly tea grown in China.Whereas the tea grown in Japan is far superior and safe to consume as the lead content is much lesser (0.739mcg ±0.074 lead / 1g Matcha) than the permissible values of 2mcg/gm standards.
